After you finally planned your wedding and got married, the next part is to actually go on your honeymoon!
This is probably one of the best parts about getting married.
For many, the honeymoon is the first big trip with their loved one, and with everything else that you have planned, it can be easy to forget about all of the little things that you may need for your honeymoon.
Here is a checklist of things that you may need for your honeymoon:
If you need a passport for your trip, then you better get one fast! Read my article How To Get A Passport for help. It’s usually best to get your passport 3 to 4 months ahead of time so that you can avoid any possible problems or hiccups. Usually the website has their wait time listed as well.
We were told that ours would take 2 weeks, but we actually received them within 1 week, which is extremely fast! Others who applied for theirs right around the same time as us got theirs months later, so it all depends.
Also, for many countries you will also need a visa. You should look this up ahead of time and apply for any necessary visas. Even if you are only stopping in a country for a day or just a long layover, you may still need one. There are different requirements for different countries. Many will also require proof of an onward ticket and proof of funds for leaving.
Your plane tickets.
Don’t forget these! You may be able to just show them your phone, but if you are unsure then always try to print your plane tickets as well. Also, if you plan on using your phone then make sure your phone is fully charged.
Your driver’s license.
You will need your driver’s license if you go to the airport, and if you plan on using a credit card at any time. Also, if you paid for any excursions online, then they will want proof that you are who you say you are.
Cash, credit cards, etc.
If you are going on a honeymoon, then you should plan on paying for things. You may want to get cash in the country’s currency as well if you need it.
Before you travel somewhere, you should research how money is accepted. Some places only want cash.
Other items that you may want to bring with you include:
- Photocopies of all documents such as your license, passport, itineraries, etc.
- Any medicine.
- Makeup, hair products, lotion, toothbrush and toothpaste.
- Clothing (you don’t want to forget this!).
Did you forget anything when you went on your honeymoon?
