When on vacation and/or traveling, some decide to completely forget about their eating and workout habits. However, that’s just not me. I want to eat the great food wherever I am, but I still want to be healthy.
I also still like to workout – all of this helps me be able to stay in shape (my average shape haha), and it also puts me in a better mood. Working out also allows me to relax – funny how that works, right?
Don’t forget about the hotel’s gym.
Many hotels these days have gyms, so I wouldn’t be surprised if yours has one. Sometimes there is a fee though, so you will have to ask the hotel about that.
Hotel gyms aren’t usually the best, but they can still be a great way for you to fit in a workout while traveling.
Workout in your hotel room.
There are several workouts that you could do in your hotel room. Depending on the entertainment in your room, you may be able to watch workout DVDs. If you can’t do that, you can also just look up workouts on your computer and copy them.
There are several workouts out there that just require your body weight, so don’t forget about those! Working out can be free, it doesn’t always have to cost money.
Pack your food.
If you can (or if you want to), you can always try to squeeze in a few meals that you make yourself that you know are healthy. I know, I know, one of the main reasons that people love traveling is because of eating all of the yummy local foods of wherever you are traveling. However, I am going to assume that you will not eat out for all meals, so when you don’t, try to eat healthy at those times!
Skip the fast food.
I know, it can be super easy to eat fast food while traveling. It’s right there, it’s usually cheap, and you’re hungry. However, you should try to pack and plan meals (like I said above), so that you can skip unhealthy fast food meals!
Don’t forget to sleep.
When traveling, it’s nice to think that everything will be all fun and vacations. However, you should always try to get a good amount of sleep (somewhere around 8 hours is usually good) so that you can be fully rested.
How do you try to stay healthy when traveling?
